Adam comes to us with more than a decade of classroom experience, working with students of all different skills and backgrounds. As a social studies teacher, he has a wide background of experience teaching different courses in the field. He is licenced in broadfield social studies, history, and psychology. Adam obtained a Master’s degree in psychology, which is his area of expertise. As a tutor, he enjoys working with high school and college students trying to keep on track with courses or seeking to improve their performance. He has helped a lot of students who need practice developing study skills or struggle with written response. His approach is positive and supportive, meeting the student where they are at and then finding ways to help them improve in both knowledge and skill. Tutoring requires a practical approach, in helping students meet immediate deadlines and upcoming tasks, while also trying to teach the skills for students to be successful in future situations.

In 2020 she was one of eight Brown County teachers named a Golden Apple Award winner by the Green Bay Chamber of Commerce. Anne believes in educating the whole child: "Teach to their heart, to their mind and to their emotions. Collaboration, connections and creativity are the keys to long-term learning. As a science teacher I have learned that allowing students to feel like they are scientists when they are in my class gives them ownership and a vested interest in their learning of science. In addition, as a chemistry educator it’s of the utmost importance to teach chemistry from an experimental macroscopic scale as well as a symbolic scale and more importantly at the nanoscale of particles. Learning can’t happen in isolation of application."

Hello, my name is Michelle Sanford and I live in the Howard-Suamico School District. I understand the positive effect that a good tutor can have on a child’s life, because once upon a time that child was me. My own love for teaching math stems all the way back to my years in grade school when I moved often and began struggling with math, but through practice and tutoring I recovered. By the time I was in high school I knew that I wanted to do something with math because I had teachers who believed in me. Currently, I strive to help students who have encountered their own learning barriers and need to complete their GED or HSED as an instructor in the Adult Basic Education area of General Studies at NWTC. Since 2011 I have worked with students who need to improve their math skills for entrance into a technical college program and also taught incarcerated students at the Huber Work Release center. Prior to NWTC, I was a math teacher for grades 5-8 in Green Bay and Little Chute area parochial schools for 9 years.
I maintain teaching certification at both the K-12 and Technical College levels, and often engage in professional development. When I am not teaching, I’m a mother to three active children.
